GUEST LECTURE “The Lieder of Richard Strauss: A Contextual Introduction with Emphasis on His 1918 Song Cycle Krämerspiegel” by Matthew Hoch, DMA Matthew Hoch is Assistant Professor of Voice at Auburn University. He earned the DMA at the New England Conservatory with a dissertation on Richard Strauss. His Strauss scholarship has been published by the Journal of Singing, the Opera Journal, and has been presented at several national and international academic conferences. Dr. Hoch is currently editing a series of Strauss scores for Classical Vocal Reprints. His first book, A Dictionary for the Modern Singer, was recently released by Rowman & Littlefield.
