‘conoscere’ sia per descrivere la prima volta
che si incontra una persona che per parlare del
fatto che la si conosce da tempo, in inglese si
usano due verbi diversi. Si usa meet nel primo
caso e know nel secondo.
Ho conosciuto Terry quando ero in vacanza.
I met Terry when I was on holiday.
Conosco Melanie da anni.
I’ve known Melanie for years.
