PASTORAL CARE Please don’t forget to inform us if you
are going to be hospitalized so one of our priests can
visit. Provide us with your name, hospital, room number,
phone number and, when possible, how long you will be
hospitalized. If you are unable to attend Mass, due to
poor health, illness or advanced age, please call so a
Eucharistic Minister can bring Communion to you.
Anointing of the Sick may be requested because of
scheduled surgery or treatment for a life-threatening illness. Call us prior to your surgery or treatment. Anointing
of the Sick at Mass may be celebrated before you go into
the hospital. Directly inform one of our priests or call one
of our Pastoral Administrators.

Riflessione del mese di aprile
UNA VITA SOLITARIA
(Bruno Ferrero, La vita è tutto ciò che abbiamo)
Figlio di una ragazza madre, era nato in un oscuro villaggio.
Crebbe in un altro villaggio, dove lavorò come falegname fino a
trent'anni. Poi, per tre anni, girò la sua terra predicando.
Non scrisse mai un libro.
Non ottenne mai una carica pubblica.
Non ebbe mai né una famiglia né una casa.
Non frequentò l'università.
Non si allontanò più di trecento chilometri da dov'era nato.
Non fece nessuna di quelle cose che di solito si associano al
successo.
Non aveva altre credenziali che se stesso.
Aveva solo trentatré anni quando l'opinione pubblica gli si rivoltò
contro. I suoi amici fuggirono. Fu venduto ai suoi nemici e subì
un processo che era una farsa. Fu inchiodato a una croce, in
mezzo a due ladri.
Mentre stava morendo, i suoi carnefici si giocavano a dadi le
sue vesti, che erano l'unica proprietà che avesse in terra.
Quando morì venne deposto in un sepolcro messo a disposizione da un amico mosso a pietà.
Due giorni dopo, quel sepolcro era vuoto.
Sono trascorsi venti secoli e oggi egli è la figura centrale nella
storia dell'umanità.
Neppure gli eserciti che hanno marciato, le flotte che sono salpate, i parlamenti che si sono riuniti, i re che hanno regnato, i
pensatori e gli scienziati messi tutti assieme, hanno cambiato la
vita dell'uomo sulla terra quanto quest'unica vita solitaria.
Al tempo della propaganda antireligiosa, in Russia, un
commissario del popolo aveva presentato brillantemente le
ragioni del successo definitivo della scienza. Si celebrava il
primo viaggio spaziale. Era il momento di gloria del primo
cosmonauta, Gagarin. Ritornato sulla terra, aveva affermato
che aveva avuto un bel cercare in cielo: Dio proprio non l'aveva
visto. Il commissario tirò la conclusione proclamando la sconfitta
definitiva della religione. Il salone era gremito di gente. La
riunione era ormai alla fine.
"Ci sono delle domande?".
Dal fondo della sala un vecchietto che aveva seguito il discorso
con molta attenzione disse sommessamente: "Christòs ànesti",
"Cristo è risorto". Il suo vicino ripeté, un po'più forte: "Christòs
ànesti". Un altro si alzò e lo gridò; poi un altro e un altro ancora.
Infine tutti si alzarono gridando: "Christòs ànesti", "Cristo è risorto".
Il commissario si ritirò confuso e sconfitto.
Al di là di tutte le dottrine e di tutte le discussioni, c'è un fatto. Per
la sua descrizione basterà sempre un francobollo: "Christòs
ànesti". Tutto il cristianesimo vi è condensato. Un fatto: non si
può niente contro di esso. I filosofi possono disinteressarsi del
fatto. Ma non esistono altre parole capaci di dar slancio
all'umanità: "Gesù è risorto".
CARISSIMI, Cristo e’ risorto e ci riempie della gioia pasquale.
Animati dal suo Santo Spirito rivolgiamo la nostra preghiera a lui,
che il Padre ha costituito principio e fondamento della nostra
unione nella fede e nell’amore. Possa il Cristo risorto vivere per
sempre nei vostri cuori e che il suo amore possa proteggere
tutti quelli che lo invocano. Infiniti auguri di una Buona e Santa
Pasqua dal Diacono Dante.

DOMINGO DE PASCUA DE LA RESURECCION DEL SEÑOR
24 DE ABRIL DE 2011
Nuestro objetivo durante esta epoca es er alimentados por el
cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo Resucitado, El cordero Pascual , y
proclamar lo que hemos vivido , lo que sentimos , escuchamos y
lo que presenciamos.
Al Resucitar Cristo ; nosotros somos tambien herederos de la
Resurrección. En la historia de la Salvación repetidamente en
varias ocasiones se nos nombra la palabra resurrección y en otros momentos acompañados
del termino Salvación. La Salvación presagia la vida libre de las ataduras del Pecado , através
de la resurrección , una nueva vida libre de corrupción y violencia , sin culpas causadas por el
pecado.
La preparación que tuvimos durante la cuaresma fue una antesala a la gran fiesta de Pascua
donde ahora reflexionaremos y participaremos de la nueva vida que Jesús nos regala . Preparemonos entonces hoy en esta gran fiesta , dispongamos nuestros corazones a la mesa de
la Pascua donde vendra luego el Espiritu Santo para derramarse sobre todos y cada uno de
nosotros .

Cluster Youth Ministry at St. Simon and Jude
Youth Center - every first & third Friday of the
month from 7-9 p.m. in the gym. Join us for basketball, frisbee and the game room, plus a
chance to do service, build community and learn
more about God..
End of the Year Retreat - May 13-14 St. Simon &Jude
Faith Formation - every second and fourth
Wednesday of month from 7-9 p.m. in the Rectory basement. Join us for networking and connecting with friends and new kids. A place where
we have discussions, activities that help us grow
in our faith and learn more about ourselves, others and God.
14 Hour Retreat has you look at where you are and where you want
to go. Through activities and small group discussions take some
time to see what road you are walking on!
Spring/Summer Retreat - June 8th St. Frances Cabrini
A final three hour retreat night for all youth as they look back and
look ahead, as spring turns into summer.
There will also be several summer opportunities for
retreats and service programs.
Unless stated all programs take place in Brooklyn, NY. Costs are
$10 for 14 hour retreats and $20 for 24 hour retreats. 3 hour retreats
or evening retreats cost the typical $1.00 as the youth center.

Join us for a safe place to hang out, special activity. Cost $1.00 each week. High School Leadership - SOUL PATROL - every first and third
Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Learn more about being a leader and also be given the opportunities
to develop these skills.
Saturday Youth Program: every First and Third
Saturday from 12-3pm. Music, games, prayer, food
and fun for youth 4-10 years of age. Older youth
can assist and get service hours from 11:30am to

Youth Mass: every third Sunday of the month at
6pm Come early get involved or join other youth for
upbeat music, and a liturgy geared to, by and for
the young church. Meets at St. A’s.
Bowling Tournament: during Easter break. Get
your teams of 3 together.
Fundraising Night: at St. A’s on April 30th - 6:00 in
the Auditorium. Tickets $20. with full course hot
meal, entertainment of Christian band & a chance
to witness the awards of youth & adults on a parish

them, you must first help yourself. Al-Anon helps families
and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of living
with the problem drinking of a relative or friend. Our AlAnon Group meets in the Nazareth Institute every Friday
8-9:30p.m. & Saturday 7:30-9:30p.m.
In order for designated Parish Ministries & Organizations to reserve one of our rooms at St. A’s, we require you to fill out our Parish Calendar & Room Request Form. The form is available in the rectory or can be downloaded from our website. We even
have an E-form so you complete this form without writing. Just e-mail it back to us, or print it out and drop it off. All Requests
must be made using our form. E-mail completed form to AnnaMarie Scuteri at [email protected]. This is the ONLY
way to reserve a room here at St. A's. The group listed on the parish calendar is the group that has the right to use that
space. If you are not a designated ministry of our parish, permission must be granted from our Pastor, Msgr. Cassato, a
rental fee is paid, and a lease agreement completed in order to use space.
