There is luxury in big proportions.
There is luxury in things that are unique and special.
There is luxury in the rediscovery of a craft that was thought to be forgotten.
I like to think of this new luxury as coming from objects of great quality, made with
the highest level of leather and tanning craftsmanship.
Lusso è grande dimensione.
Lusso è unico e speciale.
Lusso è poter godere di straordinari “savoir faire” apparentemente dimenticati.
Mi piace pensare a questo nuovo lusso ottenuto con manufatti di grande qualità,
materie ricche, lavorazioni pregiate e speciali.
I chose natural vegetable-dyed leathers for sofas, chairs, and beds that are meant
for comfort, relaxation, and conviviality. Hammered metal is my selection for
a range of coffee and dining tables - a material that brings together fine yet
sophisticated Italian workmanship with the simple elegance of Oriental craft.
Ho scelto i cuoi naturali conciati al vegetale per poltrone, poltroncine, divani e
letti: luoghi del relax e della convivialità. Il metallo martellato è per tavoli e tavolini.
C’è un filo conduttore che lega l'artigianato italiano, sofisticato e straordinario, a
quello orientale semplice e raffinato.
Starting with a bold profile and unusual colors and adopting an exaggerated scale
for the seating elements, I imagined furnishing three very different homes.
Con un segno forte e colori insoliti, con misure volutamente esagerate e sedute
morbide e accoglienti, ho immaginato di arredare tre case, molto diverse tra loro.
A luminous, modern space with soaring ceilings, white floors, large bay windows:
a warm palette of rich spicy colors - bright orange, acid green, dark brown - for a
series of overscaled sofas.
Un’architettura contemporanea bianca, luminosa. Volumi importanti, legno dipinto
di bianco a pavimento e ampie vetrate dove il gioco si svolge sulla “scala” dei manufatti
e sul colore. Il cuoio è aranciato o verde acido; oppure tinto molto scuro, ma con toni caldi.
A loft with walls and floors of gray cement.
All the seating is white, gray, black, or cowhide with a play of textures on the
leather surfaces.
The red accents and the glittery hammered metal mitigate the feeling of severity.
Un loft con pareti e pavimenti di cemento grezzo. Qui tutti i pezzi sono rigorosamente neri, bianchi o grigi. Le superfici dei cuoi lucidi sono accostate a nappe
soffici e opache. Il rosso spezza la severità della scelta e il metallo martellato dei
complementi illumina lo spazio.
An extraordinary 18 th century interior: spectacular inlaid parquet floors and
frescoes on the walls. A collection of voluminous sofas and chairs, with their play
of matte and shiny blue, olive green, and soft brown leathers, both reflect and
absorb the atmosphere of this classical environment.
Una casa straordinaria della fine del ‘700, con importanti parquet intarsiati e
affreschi alle pareti. Anche qui le dimensioni dei divani e delle poltrone dialogano
con lo spazio ben integrandosi con lo stile classico. I colori sono i blu lucidi o opachi,
i verdi oliva e i marroni acidi e sembrano aver assorbito l’essenza del luogo.
