CONFERENCE ON EMERGING CBRN THREATS
- CHEMICAL BIOLOGICAL RADIOLOGICAL AND NUCLEAR RISKSThe ACISMOM Military Corps (Corpo Militare dell’A.C.I.S.M.O.M.) has been involved for more
than 130 years in the field of maxi-emergencies, as a support for Italian Armed Forces as well as
for civilian rescue organizations. The continuous education and training is a crucial aspect to
assure an effective and updated on-field operability and to participate with professional expertise
in ever-changing emergency scenarios.
The Institute of Molecular Sciences and Technologies (Istituto di Scienze e Tecnologie
Molecolari) of the Italian National Research Council is a research centre of excellence active in
the design and synthesis of innovative molecules for nanosciences, medicine, diagnostics and in
the development of novel industrial processes for a sustainable and competitive Chemistry.
The international Conference “Chem Bio Haza Milano 2015” stems out from the synergic
interaction between these two institutions with different missions, in order to present a
comprehensive overview about emerging Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear
(CBRN) threats with a multidisciplinary approach. The most recent experiences and points of
view from the scientific, first-responders, industrial, sanitary and military domains will be
encompassed, with a special focus on protection, detection and, more in general, defence against
non-conventional hazardous events.
Invited speakers from all these different areas will attend and the format of the Conference will
follow the one successfully adopted in Milan (2011), Rome (2012), L’Aquila (2013) and Catanzaro
(2014).
Special attention will be paid to the following leading topics with contributions at national and
European level:
­ emerging technologies for CBRN defence;
­ major events and non-conventional risks;
­ protocols and guide-lines in maxi-emergencies;
­ ethical aspects and “dual use” of science and technology;
­ the rising concept of “non-conventional terrorism”;
­ collaboration among institutions active in CBRN defence: perspectives and
potentialities
The recent critical developments and issues reported by local and international media will be also
treated and discussed in detail.
“Chem Bio Haza Milano 2015” will be a unique occasion, within the Italian scenario, to meet
and share ideas with the leading experts in the field of protection and prevention from
CBRN events.

PARTICIPATION FEES
- € 80.00 for two-days Conference
- € 100.00 for two-days Conference; with 12 Italian Sanitary Educational Credits (ECM) for
sanitary professionals.
Conference material, certificate of attendance, coffee breaks, buffet lunch (on Friday) and farewell
party (on Saturday) are included in the participation fee.
HOTELS
A list of 4- and 3-star hotels with special fees for the event is suggested nearby the Conference
venue and available on the Conference webpage.
Each participant shall reserve and pay individually the hotel accommodation. It is advisable to
book widely in advance due to several overlapping events in Milan in late November (fashion fair
weeks, etc.).

POSTER SESSION
All participants are kindly invited to take part into the technical session of Friday 20, afternoon, by
presenting with a scientific poster, the latest results, findings, activities and entities active in
the field of CBRN defence and maxi-emergencies.
The one-page abstracts with the poster topics are to be sent to the Executive Secretariat by e-mail
([email protected]) by October 15, 2015.
The selected abstracts will appear in the Book of Abstracts (identified with ISBN code) in
distribution during the Conference.
