Deputy CEO
Hugh James O'Donnell was born in Leitrim, Ireland, in 1951. He holds primary and
master degrees in Engineering and was Saipem S.p.A. Managing Director and
Chief Operating Officer from 2000 to 2009. In May 2009 he was appointed Deputy
CEO of Saipem S.p.A.
From 1975 to 1977 he worked for Brown & Root in South-East Asia and with IIRS in
Ireland during 1978-1979.
From 1979 to 1991 he was a Manager at Micoperi S.p.A., Milan, working in Brazil,
Middle East, Korea and South Africa.
From 1991 to 1996 he was Managing Director of Belleli Ind. & Mecc. S.p.A.,
Mantua.
From 1996 to 1999 he was Managing Director of Saipem’s North Atlantic business.
