Cacos V has remarkably spacious interior volumes for a 40-metre and 2.2-metre high ceilings
W
ith a dramatic, imposing profile, the first model of the next generation Impero series by Admiral Tecnomar certainly caused a stir
at the latest Monaco Yacht Show. With a silhouette that is a mix
between a navy warship and an explorer vessel, Cacos V is able to cross
oceans with ease and in great comfort. The Impero 40, a semi-displacement
in aluminium, is a yacht that breaks with the past for Admiral and offers a
new way forward focusing on innovation and quality. The 40-metre is the
most silent yacht in the world, according to RINA, with the best noise and
vibration standards ever recorded, well below industry average levels (up
to 25% for noise and up to 80% for vibration). RINA also awarded Cacos V
Green Plus certification for solutions that help protect the environment. The
new Impero series comes in the wake of Admiral’s acquisition by Tecnomar
in 2011 making it now part of the Italian Sea Group. The 40-metre is the first
Admiral branded yacht that has been entirely redesigned under the new
group with many truly innovative features and sets the scene for other bran-
ds in the group to follow. “The client wanted to build a boat able to unite
unusual exterior lines with spacious interiors, featuring plenty of natural light,”
explains Luca Dini, who designed the exterior and worked with the Admiral
Style Centre on the layout. “Our goal was to design a ‘no-frills’ boat which
had to be practical, manly, muscular, but also able to maintain the typical
characteristics of the Italian design, with many open areas and maximum
emphasis placed on communication between internal and external spaces,”
he adds. “I think the key elements are its dissimilarity from the rest, even in a
market that these days offers plenty of yachts featuring a vertical bow; and
also our will to detach ourselves from external lines that are usually inspired by car design. Some details perfectly illustrate the philosophy behind
this project: the external pilot wings on the sides are deliberately thick and
massive as if to symbolize and highlight the overall spirit of this yacht; the
wheelhouse frontal windshield’s tilt angle reminds you of both warships and
explorer vessels; the vertical bow makes the hull look even more imposing.”

glamour e moderni, è il primo yacht
della nuova linea Admiral Impero. E
segna una nuova era del cantiere toscano
C
on il suo eccezionale e imponente profilo,
il primo esemplare della nuova serie Impero
di Admiral Tecnomar ha certamente suscitato
grande scalpore all’ultimo Monaco Yacht Show. Con
una silhouette che è un mix tra quello di una nave da
guerra e quello di un explorer vessel, Cacos V è in
grado di attraversare gli oceani con facilità e in grande
comfort. L’Impero 40, semidislocante in alluminio, è
uno yacht che rompe con il passato del cantiere e
offre una nuova strada che punta all’innovazione e
alla qualità. Il nuovo 40 metri è lo yacht più silenzioso
al mondo secondo la certificazione del Registro
Navale Italiano (RINA), con i migliori standard mai
registrati in fatto di rumorosità e vibrazioni, ben al di
sotto della media che si ha nel settore: più del 25
per cento per il rumore e oltre l’80 per cento per le
vibrazioni. Il RINA ha inoltre assegnato a Cacos V il
riconoscimento Green Plus per le soluzioni che aiutano
a proteggere l’ambiente. La nuova serie Impero arriva
sulla scia dell’acquisizione, nel 2011, di Admiral da
parte del cantiere Tecnomar, ora parte di Italian Sea
Group. Cacos V è il primo yacht a marchio Admiral
interamente riprogettato nell’ambito del nuovo
gruppo, presenta molte caratteristiche innovative e
costituisce una traccia per gli altri brand del gruppo.
«Il cliente ha voluto realizzare uno yacht in grado
di unire linee esterne insolite con ampi spazi interni
illuminati da molta luce naturale», spiega Luca Dini
che ha curato l’exterior design e ha lavorato sul layout
assieme al Centro Stile Admiral. «Il nostro obiettivo era
progettare uno yacht senza molti fronzoli che fosse
pratico, potente, ma anche capace di conservare le
caratteristiche del design italiano, con molti spazi
all’aperto e con la massima enfasi sulla comunicazione
tra ambienti interni ed esterni. Credo che gli elementi
chiave siano la non-somiglianza con quanto si vede
attorno, anche in un mercato che in questi giorni
offre molti yacht con la prua verticale. e inoltre la
nostra voglia di distinguerci da linee esterne che in
genere si ispirano al car-design. Alcuni particolari
illustrano bene la filosofia che sta alla base di questo
progetto: le ali di plancia sono volutamente di grande
spessore e massicce a simboleggiare e sottolineare
lo spirito generale di questo yacht. Inoltre, l’angolo di
inclinazione del parabrezza della timoneria ricorda
sia le navi da guerra sia gli explorer, mentre la prua
verticale rende l’aspetto dello scafo ancora più

One of the most dramatic elements featured by Cacos V is the remarkably
spacious interior volume for a 40-metre and 2.2-metre high ceilings. “The
first thing you notice on board are the size and height of the internal spaces.
We wanted to create an impression right from the start: amazement at
walking aboard a boat with such an innovative concept,” says Dini. “Our
main purpose was to envision a design that exalts the internal spaces and
also allows external light to seep through in the best possible way.”
The strong, masculine style of the exterior is reflected in the fully-custom
interior designed by the shipyard to the owner’s specifications. The interior style is “cherished, refined, glamorous, modern and strong,” a spokesman for Style Centre explains and highlights the concepts of space and
conviviality through a captivating modern design in silver, cream and ebony tones with reflective surfaces that is repeated throughout the yacht.
The layout is traditional with a large saloon and dining area on the main
deck with the owner’s cabin, study and double bathroom further forward.
On the lower deck, are the four guest or VIP cabins while the crew area
with three cabins is at the bow. The upper deck hosts a second saloon,

si riflette negli interni interamente progettati custom
dal cantiere secondo le specifiche dell’armatore. Lo
stile è: «Accurato, raffinato, ricco di glamour, moderno
e deciso», spiega un portavoce del Centro Stile

convivialità ottenuti attraverso un design moderno e e

the bridge and the captain’s cabin. On the sundeck is a Jacuzzi, dining
table and sunpads. “Among the key features of the main saloon are the
full-height windows allowing ample natural light to flow in and giving a
pleasant connection between the interior and exterior. The saloon and
dining room form one large space, adding an onboard sense of space and
lightness. The centrepiece is a dramatic white bronze Mauro Corda sculpture of a stretching figure. Light touches of colour are introduced through
flowers, accessories and Rietvell red & blue chairs. The full-beam owner’s
suite features an innovative headboard with LED stripes, creating a delightful contrast with the dark oak and polished Macassar of the furniture. Soft
grey curtains enrich the room. The ‘his’ and ‘her’ bathrooms share a slate
large shower.” Each of the four guest cabins are different and show a large
Alex Turco art installation at the headboard. Every area features polished
Macassar furniture, silk carpets, leather on the ceilings and floors, large tables for dining and many roll-away TVs. There are also several unique features such as white waved walls in the upper saloon and a beautiful rolling
effect on the sundeck bar corner. Admiral Tecnomar is now working on the
next Impero, a 37-metre, with a sportier, lighter shape and a more slender
appearance. It is due to be launched next summer. •

salone, la timoneria e la cabina del comandante.
Sul sundeck, una Jacuzzi, un tavolo da pranzo e
spazi prendisole. «Tra le caratteristiche principali del
main saloon risaltano le finestre a tutta altezza che
permettono alla luce naturale di fluire all’interno e
che offrono un piacevole collegamento tra interno ed
esterno. Il salone e la sala da pranzo creano un grande
ambiente che aggiunge una sensazione di spazio e
leggerezza. Il pezzo forte è una notevole scultura in
bronzo bianco di Mauro Corda. Leggeri tocchi di colore
sono introdotti grazie a fiori e cuscini, oltre al rosso e al
blu delle sedie di Rietvell». La suite armatoriale a tutto
baglio offre un’innovativa testiera del letto con stringhe
di led a contrasto con le tonalità scure del rovere e
del mogano Macassar lucido dei mobili. Nei bagni,
vasche in ardesia. Ciascuna delle quattro cabine ospiti
è caratterizzata da una testa-letto diversa, opera di Alex
Turco. Ogni ambiente è arredato con mobili in Macassar
lucido, tappeti di seta, pelle su soffitti e pavimenti,
grandi tavoli e molti televisori, tutti a scomparsa.
Esistono poi numerosi elementi unici, come le pareti
a onda nel salone superiore e un effetto a cascata al
bar del sundeck. Admiral Tecnomar è ora impegnato
sul prossimo Impero, un 37 metri dalle linee affilate e
sportive, il cui varo è previsto per l’estate 2014. •
