COMFORT CUSHION
Comfort Cushion è un cuscino adatto a pazienti con
moderato rischio da decubito, affida infatti la sua
efficacia antidecubito alla schiuma PST™ di cui è
composto. Il Comfort Cushion è disponibile
in una vasta gamma di misure e in 3 diverse fasce
di densità (come da tabella). Uno dei migliori
vantaggi di questo prodotto risiede nel fatto che
la sua base in schiuma, già sagomata in maniera
anatomica, può essere facilmente lavorata con le
normali attrezzature di una officina ortopedica
al fine di rendere la forma di seduta personalizzata
per ogni esigenza. Le caratteristiche di stabilità della
schiuma PST™ e della fodera Share Control™ ne
fanno un sistema personalizzabile di seduta a basso

COMFORT CUSHION
The Comfort Cushion is designed for patients with
a moderate risk of pressure sores and owes its
effectiveness to a PST™ foam core.
The Comfort Cushion is available in a wide range
of sizes and in 3 different densities (see table).
One of the best advantages of this product is that its
anatomically shaped foam core can be processed
with equipment customarily found in an orthopaedic
shop to create a custom shape to meet any need.
The stability features of PST™ foam and the
Share Control™ cover make for a low-cost seating
system suitable for anyone in need of a custom
solution from orthopaedic technicians.

Comfort Plus è un cuscino per pazienti con
moderato-medio rischio da decubito che
necessitano anche di un controllo della posizione
del bacino e delle gambe di base. La sua base in
PST™ è rivestita completamente da un film plastico
che lo rende totalmente impermeabile e quindi
adatto anche a pazienti incontinenti.
Il Rivestimento integra 3 sacche separate di
Poly-Lite™ posizionate sotto ognuna delle
protuberanze ischiatiche e sotto il coccige che sono
i punti a più alto rischi decubito. La fodera Shear
Control™ Cover contribuisce ad aumentarne
l’azione antidecubito e comfort di uso.
Disponibile in 5 misure, le più diffuse nelle taglie di
carrozzine per adulti.

COMFORT PLUS CUSHION
Comfort Plus is a cushion for patients with a
moderate-to-medium risk of pressure sores that
also need to control the position of their hips and
legs. Its PST™ base is completely covered by
a plastic film that makes it 100% waterproof
and therefore suitable for incontinent patients.
The cover is made with three separate bladders
of Poly-Lite™ positioned under each of the ischial
protuberances and under the coccyx, the areas
most highly at risk of pressure sores.
The Shear Control™ Cover makes the cushion
even more comfortable and effective against
pressure sores. Available in 5 sizes, the most
common adult wheelchair sizes.

HYDRO FLOAT CUSHION
Il sistema Hydro Float di galleggiamento idrostatico riduce sensibilmente le
pressioni sulla cute soprattutto nelle zone ad alto rischio delle protuberanze
ischiatiche del coccige. L’arrivo del sangue al tessuto sotto le prominenze
ossee di un paziente seduto viene compromesso a causa della peso del
corpo, pertanto Hydro Float consente la miglior distribuzione del peso. Inoltre
grazie al suo grande contenuto di acqua abbassa la temperatura cutanea
riducendo così la domanda metabolica. Un cuscino come Hydro Float che
riduce la temperatura cutanea fa anche diminuire la domanda metabolica
e fa diminuire il rischio di danno ischemico del tessuto. Inoltre combina
un’ottima distribuzione delle pressioni con la diminuzione della temperatura
cutanea divenendo il più efficace cuscino per la prevenzione ed anche la cura
delle piaghe da decubito. È consigliato l’utilizzo a pazienti la cui mobilità su
carrozzina sia ridotta dato il peso di circa 8 Kg.
HYDRO FLOAT CUSHION
The Hydro Float hydrostatically buoyant system considerably reduces
hydrostatic pressure on the skin, especially in high-risk areas such as the
ischial protuberances of the coccyx. The supply of blood to tissue over bony
prominences of the seated patient is compromised due to the weight of the
body. Therefore, Hydro Float allows for better weight distribution. Moreover,
thanks to its high water content it lowers the skin temperature, consequently
reducing the metabolic demand. A cushion like Hydro Float that reduces
skin temperature also reduces the metabolic demand and decreases the
risk of ischemic tissue damage. It also combines an optimum distribution of
pressures with the decrease in skin temperature, making it the most effective
cushion for preventing and even treating pressure sores. Its weight of about
8 Kg make this cushion suitable for patients whose wheelchair mobility is
limited.

Le Shear Control™ Covers di Hudson
uniscono i migliori tessuti ed il design più
raffinato. Insieme al PST e al Poly-Lite™,
garantiscono attrito e frizione. Le Shear
Control™ Covers sono realizzate con
un tessuto superficiale senza frizione
libera, bielastico, in maglia di poliestere
molto veloce ad asciugarsi e resistente
alle macchie, inoltre questa maglia è
laminata con un film interno di uretano
idrorepellente che garantisce una
protezione dall’incontinenza del paziente
e permette alla fodera di muoversi con
il paziente riducendo attriti e frizioni.
Le fodere Shear Control™ includono
una base antiscivolo resistente, strisce
di Velcro™ per il fissaggio del cuscino

Shear Control ™ Covers feature a
surface fabric consisting of friction free
two-way stretch polyester knit that is
both quick drying and stain resistant.
This polyester knit is then laminated
to a fluid-resistant urethane inner-liner
that provides incontinence protection.
The urethane laminate allows the cover
to move with the patient, reducing the
forces of friction and shearing. Shear
Control ™ covers include a resistant
non-skid base, Velcro ™ strips for
securing the cushion to the seat and
a front-positioned handle, completely
removable with a convenient zip closure.

those days are over! Hudson Medical introduces
a revolutionary new process called Progressive
Support Technology (PST), which allows each
category of patients (paediatric, adult and bariatric)
to have a cushion tailored to their specific needs.
Hudson foam cores are engineered to provide
the right degree of firmness and support for all
categories of users. This technology ensures
results that are highly stable over time thanks to the
chemical formulation that maintains the material’s
firmness and elasticity that ordinary urethane foams
tend to lose quickly.

Poly-Lite™ is Hudson Medical’s
innovative polymer that not
only outperforms every other
conventional fluid, gel and silicone,
but is also 70% lighter.
Poly-Lite™ significantly reduces
interface pressure. It does not
easily displace, thus reducing the
likelihood of bottoming out. PolyLite™ is a proprietary polymer
that will never dry out, separate,
require kneading or repositioning
or change viscosity. It is thermally
stable, providing moderate-risk
patients an effective degree of
pressure protection.

Although water is an excellent
pressure distributor, its low
viscosity makes water-based
decubitus cushions difficult to
handle and poorly effective.
Hudson solves this problem with
Hydro Float ™ technology, which
“brakes” the fluctuation of water
while maintaining its pressure
distribution performance. A
patented process removes the air
from a thick foam core which is
then injected with a unique gel to
create a single 7.5 cm thick pad.
