Technology and quality
“THOR”, sinonimo di qualità da quasi cinquant’anni nel
mondo dei tubi flessibili in gomma, inizia la sua storia nel
1960 con la costituzione della TUBI THOR S.p.A., società oggi capogruppo per la produzione di tubi ad alta pressione
per oleodinamica ai quali si affiancano, in un primo tempo,
tubi per scarico petrolio da pontile e tubi per raffreddamento altiforni.
Con il prosieguo dell’attività il “core business” viene indirizzato verso i tubi industriali: la gamma dei prodotti si arricchisce ulteriormente per soddisfare le richieste che provengono
dai più svariati settori grazie a tubazioni realizzate su mandrino rigido, long length stampati o tutta gomma estrusi.
In funzione del continuo rinnovamento tecnologico e delle
sentite necessità di aumentare le proprie quote di mercato,
viene costituita, nella metà degli anni ‘70, la THOR SUD
S.p.A. che, grazie ad un rivoluzionario processo di produzione semiautomatico brevettato, si impone come società all’avanguardia nel campo della produzione di tubi su mandrino
rigido.
“THOR”, synonimous with quality since almost fifty years in
the field of rubber hoses, started its activity in 1960 with the
establishment of TUBI THOR S.p.A. - today group-leader company - to produce high pressure hoses for oleodynamic applications followed, at the beginning, by bunker hoses and
cooling hoses for the steel industry.
With the development of the activity the “core business” is
turned towards industrial hoses: the products range – thanks
to hoses made on rigid mandrels, lead cured hoses or extruded tubings – enriches further on to meet the requirements arising from the most varied fields.
In consideration of the continuous technological modernization and of the need to increase the market shares, THOR
SUD S.p.A. is estabilished in the middle of the Seventies.
Thanks to a revolutionary patented process of semi-automatic manufacture, this company is considered to be at the
forefront of hose production on rigid mandrels.
Verso la fine degli anni ‘80 per far fronte da un lato al crescente fabbisogno interno di semilavorati e dall’altro all’esigenza di produrre mescole con caratteristiche fisico-meccaniche superiori, viene costituita la S.I.M. S.r.l.
I successivi sforzi, senza distogliere l’attenzione dalla realizzazione di nuovi prodotti e dalle richieste del mercato, sono
dedicati allo sviluppo ed implementazione della progettazione delle tubazioni totalmente gestita da computer ed alla
gestione integrata del processo produttivo.
La continua ricerca ha permesso al gruppo, che ha ormai fatto della qualità il suo punto strategico, di produrre tubi sempre più performanti ed in grado di rispondere alle normative
che regolano i diversi settori merceologici.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Towards the end of the Eighties, to face on one side the
group’s growing need of semi-finished products and, on the
other side, the need to produce compounds with high quality physical and mechanical characteristics, they establish
S.I.M. S.r.l.
The subsequent efforts, without diverting the attention from
the realization of new products and from the requirements
of the market, are dedicated to the development and implementation of the hose planning entirely managed by the
computer system and to the integrated management of the
manufacturing process.
The continuous research has allowed the group, whose strategic point is “quality”, to produce better and better
hoses which can meet the requirements of the norms which
regulate the varied fields.
Con l’inizio del nuovo millennio il gruppo THOR continua la
sua espansione con la creazione nel 2003 della Società
Commerciale Ibérica de Mangueras THOR S.r.l. a Barcellona e
con l’acquisizione maggioritaria nel 2004 della Dura Hose &
Fittings Ltd a Manchester.
Al fine di ottenere una sempre più significativa presenza sui
mercati internazionali nel 2006 è iniziata la costruzione del
nuovo stabilimento produttivo in Tunisia con la costituzione
della THOR JMS Sarl.
At the beginning of the new millenium THOR Group expands
in 2003 with the settlement of the Commercial Company
Iberica de Mangueras THOR S.r.l. in Barcelona and in 2004
with the acquisition of the majority of the shares of Dura
Hose & Fittings Ltd in Manchester.
In order to get a more and more significant presence on the
international markets, in 2006 the building of a new factory
started in Tunisia with the settlement of THOR JMS Sarl.
Oggi il gruppo THOR si prepara a compiere un ulteriore balzo in avanti: il know how aziendale, il gusto per l’innovazione, la capacità e l’esperienza a risolvere i più complessi problemi tecnici, la coesione del gruppo Dirigente unito nella
condivisione degli obiettivi e la professionalità di tutte le
