The capital city is Rome, famous for Colosseo and San Pietro basilica. The italian flag is green, white, red. We speak italian… CIAO Apulia forms a high heel on the "boot" of Italy. It’s situated in the southeastern Italy bordering the Adriatic sea in the east, the Ionian sea to the southeast, and the Gulf of Taranto in the south. Apulia is famous for olive oil, red strong wine, almonds and a lot of very good food! Apulia has got five provinces: FOGGIA BARI TARANTO BRINDISI LECCE The Province of Bari has got an area of 5,138 km² and a lot of people! There are very nice places to visit: Alberobello, In the heart of Itria Valley, the Unesco well-known town of ”trulli”. The unique Castel del monte, built in a perfect octogonal shape. Polignano a mare, a town built on the rock. Ostuni is called "the white city" because of the whitewashed houses of the Old Quarter. Castellana Grotte, the town famous for the fantastic caves. View of Bari and the sea at sunset The old town rises on a small, hard limy hill which reaches down to the Adriatic Sea. The main station Petruzzelli theatre In Corso Vittorio Emanuele you can see the statue of Niccolò Piccinni, the famous musician and compositor. He was born in Bari in 1728. His father was a musician, his grandfather was a famous compositor. He studied in different towns and he was very famous for his “Opera buffa” Special Food from Puglia “Cavatelli” with tomato sauce Fried calzone with mozzarella cheese and tomato inside Pasta and cauliflower Biscuits with almonds and sugar, special after dinner with sweet white wine. Rice, potatoes and mussels Focaccia…you can eat it all day long, also for breakfast!| A typical pasta: orecchiette with special vegetables called “rape” and tomate sauce Mussels: with very much pepper!
