CHRISTINA CLAUSEN Christina Clausen was born in Denmark but lives and works for the most part in Rome. Since 1991 she has been collaborating with RAI Italian State Television. In 1998 she debuted as a director with «Tedeschi in Italia 1943-1945.(Germans in Italy 1943-45)». She has also worked in Austrian television (ORF) and Swiss television (RTL). Since 1994, she has curated several audiovisual projects for exhibitions of contemporary art at Italian museums (Andy Warhol, Jean–Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein – also screened at Ludwig Museum in Cologne summer 2010– among others). Her documentary “The Universe of Keith Haring”, (with interviews by Bill T.Jones, Yoko Ono, David LaChapelle, Kenny Scharf, Fab 5 Freddy among others ) world-premiered at Rome Film Festival in 2007, followed by USA premiere at Tribeca Film Festival 2008, International Festival of Films on Art in Montreal and many other festivals worldwide. It won the Special Prize of the Jury at FIC Brasilia International Festival 2007, and was released in cinema’s both in America, England and Germany. The film has been distributed internationally (USA France, Holland, Germany, Australia, GB, and Italy –with a book curated by Christina Clausen). The film is also about to be released in Japan (autumn 2011). 2009–2011 she curated and hosted a monthly TV report called “Arte and Performance”, insert in the program Chièdiscena for TG3 /RAITRE. In 2010 in occasion of an exhibition of Ferlinghetti’s work in Italy she made the documentary “Lawrence Ferlinghetti, the Poet and the Painter“ shoot in San Francisco, sponsored in part by the American Embassy in Rome. Same year she did a documentary on the internationally known Italian gallerist Lucio Amelio which is permanently displayed at Reggia di Caserta, Naples at the exhibition “Terrae Motus – 30 anni dopo”. Just recently she made a documentary about Anish Kapoor, at present to be seen in the exhibition “Anish Kapoor– Dirty Corner” at Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan until January. At present she works for RAIUNO on a program about Italian Performing Arts.
