METAMORFOSI
12-17 aprile 2011
La Triennale di Milano
Via Alemagna 6, Milano
Una forma a totem,
omaggio alla ‘Memphis’colorata e
architettonica,dall’ispirazione
tutta indiana. Un’esplorazione
visiva e tattile (grazie all’inedito
impiego della tecnica del ‘floccaggio’)
nel mondo della ceramica.
An iconic totem, a homage to the pop
colors and architectural design of Memphis,
and completely Indian in its inspiration:
Indian Mood explores the infinite visual and
tactile possibilities of the world of ceramics, employing the surprising application of
flocking techniques to offer an unexpected
and highly original interpretation
of bathroom design.

FOCUS ON THE FINISHES
interamente A MANO.
The The elements used in the Indian Mood installation are among some of the BESTSELLERS in the SIMAS collections:
E-line and Flow. Created as one-off pieces exclusively for the Metamorphosis exhibition, each is individually decorated
using the decalcomania technique, which SIMAS first launched in 2005, making it a pioneer in the application of contemporary graphic design to bathroom furniture.
The process of applying the multi-layered decorations employed in the creation of Indian Mood, which include the use of
real gold, platinum and silver, consists of a series of different phases, beginning with the manual application of decorative
motifs, followed by kiln firing (up to four and five cycles per piece) and finally the flocking stage, which is realized
entirely BY HAND.
