Cliente donna 1: Io vorrei un bicchiere di vino bianco. Female customer 1: I’d like a glass of white wine. Cameriere: E Lei cosa prende? Waiter: And what will you have? Cliente donna 2: Prendo lo stesso, grazie. Female customer 2: I’ll have the same, thank you. Cliente donna 1: Alla salute! Female customer 1: Cheers! Cliente donna 2: Cin cin! Female customer 2: Cheers! You are seated at the café. The waiter asks you what you would like to drink. Cosa volete da bere? What would you like to drink? This sentence starts with cosa which means what, when used in a question sentence. The next word is volete, which can be translated as would you like, plural, in a question sentence. The last word is bere meaning to drink. You can now answer with what you’d like to drink. In the dialog the first customer says Io vorrei un bicchiere di vino bianco. I’d like a glass of white wine.
