Fennville Farm Unit Manager’s Update
2015 Season - Week of 1/3
Weather
Last week we saw temperatures in the 30s and low 40s. It rained later in the week followed by a
sharp temperature decline and some snow.
Waterfowl Abundance
Geese have finally shown up. Our numbers increased significantly over the week, especially with the
cool down.
Hunting Conditions
Hunting conditions are still good. Some zones have low corn but still plenty to hide in.
Hunter Numbers
Hunter numbers have climbed a little due to snow conditions and more geese but still plenty of zones
to hunt.
Waterfowl Harvest
Harvest has been hit or miss. It was good for a few days then declined back to single digits but rose
again. January 9th was our best day this season. 65 birds were taken that day alone.
What To Expect This Week
Temperatures will remain low and snow will continue to fall. We are expecting several inches by the
end of the week.
