High glucose level in urine is a symptom of diabetes, a disease that occurs when the body does not make or properly use insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps maintain levels of glucose in the blood. In a person with diabetes, the kidneys filter excess glucose into the urine. Design an Experiment Doctors can test for glucose in urine using glucose test paper, which turns green in the presence of glucose. Review the list of materials below. Use the materials to design an experiment that tests for glucose in fake urine. Remember that you will need a control in your experiment so you can compare results.
