JAGUAR NEWS
JAGUAR NEWS Newsletter January 2016 Happy New Year Murrieta Jaguars.! We hope you had a restful, relaxing winter break and are ready for the second half of the school year. As a school this is the time we look at the student data and achievements and make the needed adjustments in instruction. Now is a good time to ask your child about goals they have set and begin setting new ones for the rest of the year. As we get started this year, here are 3 New Year Resolutions to consider: 1) Restore beginning of the year routines, setting up consistent study times, bed times, and morning procedures. 2) Spend some time reading about anything of their choice. All our teachers would agree that reading is the most crucial skill for student success. 3) Reduce screen time. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no more than 2 hours of screen time per day. We are so excited about what 2016 will bring to Murrieta Elementary School. We will begin our Measure BB technology improvements. Classrooms will begin construction of new projection systems and audio speakers. We are also adding many new devices (laptops and desktop computers) to increase the outcomes and build skills to be ready for our future. Our staff is dedicated and passionate for student success. Remember attendance matters! Make sure we are on time, ready to learn. We also plan lessons until the very last bell. Please try to schedule appointments after school hours. Thanks so much for your support of Murrieta Elementary School. Rob Lurkins, Principal Family Bingo Night 7:00—8:30pm January 22nd Come Join the Fun!
