Northwestern Law’s Summer Business Internship Program
Northwestern Law’s Summer Business Internship Program Thank you for your interest in the Northwestern Law Summer Business Internship Program (SBIP). The SBIP provides businesses with mature and experienced students on a short-term basis at a reasonable expense. Throughout the program’s history numerous businesses have hired at least one Northwestern Law student for an internship, including Abbott Laboratories, Coty, Enova Financial, Exelon, General Dynamics, Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management, Hyatt, Nicor Gas, Office Max, Reyes Holdings, Siemens Industry, United Airlines, and Zebra Technologies. Program Description The SBIP is specifically designed to offer your organization the flexibility to create an internship that meets your unique needs: First-year or second-year JD students work five days a week for up to 12 weeks, from mid-May through mid-August; The student becomes actively supervised member of the company’s legal department or other interested business unit and is allocated extended projects/assignments; and Employers provide a weekly commitment of at least $500. Participation Northwestern offers three convenient ways to connect with students: Resume collection; On campus interview; or Video conference. The Northwestern Law Advantage Business law is one of the main foci of Northwestern Law’s curriculum, and we offer the opportunity for our students to take several jointly-listed courses at the Kellogg School of Management. About 10% of our JD students - almost 25 per class - are enrolled in our exceptional, integrated three-year JD-MBA program. Additionally, over 90% of our students enter Northwestern with at least one year of work experience; over 70% have two or more years. Many of our students have worked in professional business settings such as consulting, investment banking, technology, and real estate.
