New! ParentChild Classes Center for Talent Development Weekend Enrichment Programs Age 3 years old April 16-30, 2016 AND May 7-21, 2016, at Northwestern University Evanston, IL 9:30 –11:00 a.m. Tadpole Academy is a series of three parent-child classes on Saturday mornings in Evanston. No test scores are required for your child to participate. Children must be three years old (at time of program) and accompanied in each class by a parent or caregiver. TADPOLE ACADEMY I TADPOLE ACADEMY II For students age 3 years old + a parent/care-giver For students age 3 years old + a parent/care-giver April 16, 23, and 30 May 7, 14, and 21 Pet Store - Discuss pets and pet stores through read aloud stories, learn about animal biology, and make pretend store purchases with toy money. Construction Site - Learn about how a house is built, build houses out of blocks, and measure shapes and structures. Billy Goat Bridge - Tell and act out fairy tales and explore math and science concepts in these well-loved stories. Robots - What is a robot? How do people talk to robots and tell them what to do? We'll meet some friendly Bee-Bot robots and introduce children to basic concepts of computer programming. The Best Nest - Birds are amazing. They can fly and sing, and they are also ingenious architects. We'll learn how birds construct their nests and we’ll do some creative nestbuilding of our own. Food Truck - A food truck is a restaurant on wheels.
