Dear friends,
I am genuinely moved by the enormous impact you are having
on our College of Law and its drive to meet the challenges of legal
education in the 21st century. These are tumultuous times, and you
have responded by strengthening your commitment to the College
and its mission.
That mission – to educate and inspire leaders who pursue justice
and advance the role of law in society – takes passion and hard
work. It also takes financial support – for student scholarships,
professorships, centers and institutes and clinics, and the wide range
of programming that enlivens the school. And you have increased,
and continue to increase, your support with tremendous generosity.
In 2014, your contributions to the College grew to nearly $3.2
million, an impressive figure. The number of you who contributed to
the College increased 11.4 percent. That’s impressive too.
We are a community – of alumni, friends, partners, faculty, students,
and staff – drawn together by our dedication to the good that law
and lawyers bring to society. To all of you, and on behalf of all of you,
