In this talk, I will show that induced magnetic gauge potentials appear generically in reduced descriptions of quantum many body systems, even in ordinary cases like electron dynamics in molecules, quantum dots and solids. In contrast to the gauge potentials induced by periodically shaking optical lattices, these gauge potentials arise from the combination of interactions and nonadiabatic driving. Consequences for charge and energy transfer are illustrated in the exact nonlinear dynamics of a threesite Hubbard ring driven into a periodic steady state. Some surprising phenomena such as counterintuitive charge pumping and energy exchange are observed. arxiv:1401.3719 L. Dell’Anna F. Baldovin
