PENTECOST SUNDAY 2016
This Sunday, we celebrate Pentecost which is the outpouring of the
Holy Spirit on the Church. We read in the Acts of the Apostles that the
Holy Spirit descended on them like tongues of fire and transformed
them utterly. Everything about them – their outlook on life, attitudes,
behaviour – changed fundamentally. They came to understand who
Jesus truly was and what it meant to be his disciple. From then on,
they were driven by the passion for the kingdom that Jesus had
inaugurated by his life, death and resurrection.
Archbishop Denis Hart
CONFIRMATIONS 2016
We congratulate our young parishioners from St
Christopher’s School, St Augustine’s School and those
studying in other schools who received the sacrament of
Confirmation. We pray that they may experience the
guidance of the Holy Spirit every day of their life.

WEEKEND 14 / 15 MAY 2016
The Melbourne Catholic Archbishop’s Charitable Fund will
be conducting an Appeal in parishes to support the vital
work of Catholic Chaplains in our community on Sunday 15
May.
Chaplaincy Sunday, in this Year of Mercy, is an opportunity
for all of us to commit ourselves to the words of Pope
Francis, “it must be a place of mercy where everyone can
feel welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged to live the
good life of the Gospel”.
The presence of Catholic Chaplains is a crucial witness to
our faith, a crucial dimension of our service of love, and a
vital testimony to the value of life in all its stages
If you would like further information please contact the
Development Office: 9926 5731
Donations will go towards supporting Chaplains who

Winter Appeal
This winter thousands of people will turn to the St Vincent De Paul Society
for help. They may be homeless, suffering chronic poverty, abuse or long
term unemployment. The St Vincent de Paul Society is calling for help from
parishioners who are able to donate financially or through material goods.
Members of this parish community are invited to take part by bringing good
quality clothing, blankets, doonas and non-perishable items of food to Mass
on the weekend of 4/5 June. There will also be a cash collection and
envelopes will be available at all Masses. Please do not donate food where
the date has expired. Your local St Vinnies representative will then collect
these donated items and have them distributed to people in need in the local
area.
