Un satellite di bellezza in cui Mastro Raphaël
si muove portando nel proprio marchio
il lessico e le competenze della bottega,
di quella fucina meravigliosa in cui il “mastro”,
l’artigiano, sperimentava, cesellava dettagli,
giocava con la materia che si muoveva docile
fra le sue dita. Mastro è Mario Arcangeli,
capostipite di una famiglia dedita ad un’arte
delicata, mossa dalla passione, dall’amore
per la nobiltà delle fibre.
A satellite of beauty in which Mastro Raphaël
moves, bringing to its brand the language
and skills of the workshop, of that magnificent breeding ground in which the “master”,
the craft worker, experimented, chiselled
details, played with the material which moved
readily and willingly through his fingers.
The Master is Mario Arcangeli, the founder
of a family dedicated to a delicate art, driven
by passion and love for the nobility of fibres.
Tele piqué sagomate dalle piccole anse del
nido d’ape, nicchie concave in cui si posa
il nitore dei bianchi, il sapore polveroso dei
colori saturi, lievemente adombrati di pastello.
Piacevoli da sentire, da assaporare visivamente,
in una sinestesia poetica.
Ogni creazione di Mastro Raphaël resta, come
una pietra miliare sul percorso della raffinatezza,
sempre attuale, come se il tempo e il suo
scorrere non potessero intaccarla.
Così, si passa attraverso la sinfonia visiva
e tattile dei cotoni grossi, lavorati a cesto,
ad uncinetto, con elementi che li rendono
simili a un bassorilievo come nello storico
copriletto Cannabis, ideato 35 anni fa.
Eppure divenuto immortale, simbolo di
un’estetica, come lo furono le lenzuola a tre
righe scelte da Coco Chanel nel lontano 1937.
Piqué sheets shaped by the small twists
of honeycomb, concave niches in which
lies the clearness of the whites, the
powdery touch of concentrated colours,
slightly overshadowed by pastel. A pleasure
to feel, to visually savour, in a poetic synthesis.
Each creation by Mastro Raphaël remains,
like a milestone on the route of elegance,
ever fashionable, as if time and its passing
could not tarnish it.
You pass through the visual and tactile
symphony of large cottons, basket worked,
crocheted, with elements making them
similar to a bas-relief like that in the Cannabis
bedspread, designed 35 years ago.
And yet it has become immortal, a symbol
of beauty, like the three-striped sheets
chosen by Coco Chanel back in 1937.
Trame semplici, come quelle dei lini pervasi
da un effetto vissuto, quasi fossero usciti da
un immaginario baule secolare, dalle tonalità
stemperate in un insolito mélange.
Oppure complesse, come le spugne decorate
con tessuti operati, trompe l’oeil, effetti maglia.
Virtuosismi da manuale, nei Coralli che
fioriscono sul tessuto grazie a un mélange
di filati policromi.
Simple textures, like those of the linens
penetrated by a worn effect, almost as if they
had come out of an imaginary centuries-old
trunk, with shades blended in an unusual
mélange. Or complex, like the sponge cloths
decorated with worked fabrics, trompe l’oeil,
mesh effects. Impeccable virtuosities, in the
Corals which bloom on the fabric thanks to
a mélange of polychrome yarns.
Le sete croccanti, ispirate alla veneziana
Ca’ Rezzonico, operate o canneté, risplendono
nella palette di toni patinati nel dualismo fra
brillantezza e opacità.
The crisp silks, inspired by the Venetian
Ca’ Rezzonico, worked or canneté, shine
in the palettes of glossy tones in the
dualism between brilliance and opacity.
Il timbro di base è sempre equilibrato.
La materia vibra sotto la patina lieve dei creta,
terracotta, gesso, dai tinti-stinti che accarezzano
i sensi con le loro modulazioni pacate.
The basic tone is always balanced.
The material vibrates under the soft gloss
of clay, terracotta, chalk, dyed-undyed that
caress the senses with their placid modulations.
