Coming down the hill with them,
Jesus stood on a level place.
Many of his disciples were there
and a large crowd of people who
had come from all parts of Judea

Il brano del profeta Geremia mi assicura che posso trovare la serenità e la gioia di vivere
confidando solo in Dio e in nessun altro.
Attraverso le Beatitudini, Luca mi esorta ad un sincero esame di coscienza e a misurare il senso
della mia vita cristiana. I poveri, gli affamati e coloro che piangono non sono beati perché hanno
meriti speciali, o sono più bravi di altri, ma solo perché sono maggiormente amati da Dio che ci
ama secondo i nostri bisogni. Ciò non mi esime dall’impegnarmi a favore dei più bisognosi, dal
creare un nuovo ordine di rapporti umani, per un mondo migliore e diverso da quello attuale, pieno
d’ingiustizie, egoismi e prevaricazioni.

The passage in Prophet Jeremiah assures me no one else except God can give me serenity and joy
of living.
Through the Beatitudes, Luke urges me to do an in-depth soul search and evaluate my life as a
Christian. The poor, the hungry, the mourners have neither special merits, nor are they better
than others. Yet they are receive greater blessings because God loves each of us according to our
specific needs. This does not exempt me from becoming involved in helping the most needy, like
it does not exempt me from creating a new order in human relations. So that I can take part in
creating a world that will differ from the one we live in, full of injustices and selfishness where
misuse and abuse of powers abound.
