Dono Della Vita

DONO D’AMORE
Nessuno di noi ha chiesto di venire al mondo giacché la vita è un dono. Dono d’amore di Dio e dei
nostri genitori. Lo spirito di Dio mi ha fatto, e il soffio dell'Onnipotente mi ha dato la vita. (Gb 33,4)
Perché Dio ci ha creati? Cosa si aspetta Dio da noi? Qual è il vero fine della vita? Per chi e che cosa
dobbiamo vivere?
GIFT OF LOVE
None of us asked to come into this world inasmuch as life is a gift. A gift of love
from God and our parents. The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the
Almighty keeps me alive. (Job 33,4)
Why did God create us? What are His expectations of us? What is the real scope
of life? For whom and for what are we to live?
Se la vita è dono d’amore il fine della
vita è l’AMORE, cioè amare. Ma
amare chi? Soprattutto Dio creatore
e poi il prossimo, cioè tutti. Dio
merita tutto il nostro amore, la
nostra devozione… l’Adorazione, la
Gloria e l’Onore!
“Amerai il Signore Dio tuo con tutto
il tuo cuore, con tutta la tua anima,
con tutta la tua mente. Questo è il
più grande e il primo dei precetti. Ma
il secondo è simile ad esso: Amerai il
prossimo tuo come te stesso.” (Mt
22,37-39)
If life is a gift of love, then its scope
is LOVE. Yes, to love God the
Creator above all and then our
neighbors, all of them. God
deserves all of our love, devotion…
our Adoring Him, Glorifying and
Honoring Him!
"You shall love the Lord, your God, with
all your heart, with all your soul
and with all your mind. This is the
first and the most important of the
commandments. But after this
there is another one very similar to
it: You shall love your neighbor as
yourself.
(Mt 22, 37-39)
Il vero amore è pura
donazione di se senza nulla
chiedere in cambio.
Da questo riconosceranno
tutti che siete miei discepoli,
se avete amore gli uni per gli
altri».(Gv 13,35) Le molte
acque non possono spegnere
l'amore né travolgerlo i
fiumi…(Ct 8,7)
La speranza, poi, non delude,
poiché l'amore di Dio è stato
riversato nei nostri cuori per
mezzo dello Spirito Santo
datoci in dono (Rom 5,5)
True love is pure giving of
ourselves asking for nothing in
return.
By this everyone will know
that you are my disciples, if you
have love for one another.(Jn
13,35) No flood can extinguish
love nor river submerge
it…(Song 8, 7) and hope does
not disappoint us because the
Holy Spirit has been given to
us, pouring into our hearts the
love of God.
(Rom 5,5)
La vita è dono non solo materiale ma è per l’Eternità.
E questa è la testimonianza: Dio ci ha dato la vita eterna e questa vita è nel Figlio suo. (1Gv 5,11) Io do loro la vita eterna e
non periranno mai; e nessuno le strapperà dalla mia mano. (Gv 10,28) La ricompensa del peccato è la morte, il dono di
grazia di Dio è la vita eterna in Cristo Gesù nostro Signore. (Rom 6,23)
Life is a gift not only in the material sense but for all of Eternity.
What has God said? That he has granted us eternal life and this life is in his Son (1Jn 5,11) and I give them eternal life. They
shall never perish and no one will ever steal them from me (Jn 10,28) So on one side is Sin: its reward, death; on the other side is
God: he gives us, by grace, life everlasting in Christ Jesus, our Lord.(Rom 6,23)
Infatti, in ogni uomo c’è
l’anelito a ricongiungersi per
sempre col proprio Creatore.
Questo anelito, purtroppo e
spesso, viene soffocato da ciò
che si oppone all’Amore:
l’egoismo, l’orgoglio e la
presunzione. Da qui nasce
tutto il male dell’umanità.
Indeed, every man yearns to be
rejoined with his Creator forever.
Regrettably and too often this
yearning is suppressed by all that
stands in the way of Love:
selfishness, pride and
conceitedness. This is the seed of
all of humanity’s evilness.
Gesù è venuto per salvarci ma ci chiede di vincere l’egoismo. S.Agostino diceva:" chi ti ha creato senza di te, non ti giustifica
senza di te: ha creato chi non sapeva, non giustifica chi non vuole " Infatti, Dio non si impone e da noi attende una libera scelta
d’amore.
Jesus came to save us but He also asks us to win over selfishness. St. Augustine wrote: “the One who created
you without you will not justify you without you: He created without knowing whom, He will not justify
you without your willing it”. The Lord, as a matter of fact, does not impose His will upon us and He
expects us to choose to love out of our own free will.
Io ho scelto Dio nella mia vita e in essa lo colloco al primo posto
perché Egli è fonte di gioia, di amore e di ogni bene. Da questa
scelta la mia vita acquista senso e valore. Offrire a Dio la mia
giornata, tutta la mia vita, mi fa sentire in pace con Lui, con me
stesso e con il mondo intero; tutto ciò dà completezza alla mia
vita e forza per affrontare qualsiasi difficoltà.
I have chosen to have God in my life and in it I give Him first
and center stage because He is the sole source of joy, love
and goodness. Out of this choice, my life makes sense and is
valuable. Offering the Lord my daily work and deeds,
offering Him my whole life makes me feel at peace with
Him, with myself and with the whole world; this gives
thoroughness to my life and give me the strength to face
difficulties that arise.
Carissimi, amiamoci gli uni gli altri, poiché l'amore è da Dio e chi ama è generato da Dio e conosce Dio. Chi non ama non ha
conosciuto Dio, poiché Dio è amore. L'amore di Dio si è manifestato tra noi in questo: Dio ha inviato il suo Figlio unigenito nel
mondo, affinché noi avessimo la vita per mezzo di lui. In questo si è manifestato l'amore: noi non abbiamo amato Dio, ma egli
ha amato noi e ha inviato il Figlio suo come propiziazione per i nostri peccati. Carissimi, se così Dio ha amato noi, anche noi
dobbiamo amarci gli uni gli altri. (1Gv 4, 7-11)
My dear friends, let us love one another for love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Those who do
not love have not known God, for God is love. How did the love of God appear among us? God sent his only Son into this world
that we might have life through him. This is love: not that we loved God but that he first loved us and sent his Son as an atoning
sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, if such has been the love of God, we, too, must love one another.
(1Jn 4, 7-11)
Allora Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: «Se uno vuol venire dietro a me, rinneghi se stesso, prenda la sua croce e mi segua. Poiché chi vuol
salvare la propria vita la perderà; chi invece perderà la propria vita a causa mia, la troverà. Infatti, che giovamento avrà l'uomo se,
avendo conquistato tutto il mondo, è danneggiato poi nella sua vita? Oppure, che cosa potrà dare l'uomo quale prezzo della sua
vita? (Mt 16, 24-26)
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If you want to follow me, deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me. For whoever
chooses to save his life will lose it, but the one who loses his life for my sake will find it. What will one gain by winning the
whole world if he destroys himself? There is nothing you can give to recover your own self. (Mt 16, 24-26)
Noi dobbiamo amare, perché lui per primo ci ha amati. Se uno dice: «Io amo Dio» e poi odia il proprio fratello, è mentitore: chi
infatti non ama il proprio fratello che vede, non può amare Dio che non vede. E noi abbiamo da lui questo comandamento: chi
ama Dio ami anche il proprio fratello.(1Gv 4, 19-21) Nessuno ha un amore più grande di questo: dare la vita per i suoi amici
(Gv 15,13)
So let us love one another, since he loved us first. If you say, "I love God," while you hate your brother or sister, you are a liar.
How can you love God whom you do not see, if you do not love your brother whom you see? We received from him this
commandment: let those who love God also love their brothers. (1Jn4, 19-21) There is no greater love than this, to give one's
life for one's friends; (Jn 15, 13)
