La vita umana è un soffio…in un attimo si spegne !
Human Life is like a breath…in an instant it is gone!
Ciò che da SENSO ALLA
VITA non è la
soddisfazione di tutti i
piaceri del corpo, che è
destinato a finire sotto
terra, ma la cura
dell’ANIMA che è
destinata al cielo. Come
“creature” veniamo da Dio
e a Lui ritorneremo. Poco
importa se il corpo viene
spazzato via da un’onda
crudele o bruciato in un
incidente stradale,
l’importante è avere l’anima
sempre pronta all’incontro
con il suo Creatore.
E’ lo Spirito che dà la
vita, la carne non giova a
nulla; le parole che vi ho
detto sono spirito e vita.
Ma vi sono alcuni tra voi
che non credono.
(Gv 6,63-64)
What adds SENSE OF LIFE is
not the satisfaction of all
pleasures of the body, which
is destined to end under the
earth, but the care of the
soul which is destined for
heaven. As ‘creatures’ we
come from God and to God we
will return. It makes no
difference whether the body
is swept away by a cruel
wave or burnt in a traffic
accident. What matters is to
keep our soul always ready to
meet its Creator.

La nostra società si preoccupa troppo della cura del corpo (il consumismo ci spinge a
farlo in mille modi) ma quasi niente della cura dell’anima (questa non fa business..)
Our society is obsessed with the care of the body (consumerism urges us to do this in a
thousand ways) while it practically ignores the care of the soul. After all. It does not
conduce to business!
Io sono la luce del mondo; chi segue me, non camminerà nelle tenebre, ma avrà
la luce della vita. (Gv 8, 12)
“I am the Light of the world; the one who follows me will not walk in darkness,
but will have light and life.” (In 8, 12)
A quella parte dell’umanità che pretende di poter fare a meno di Dio, questo tragico
evento dimostra come l’uomo, “dominatore dell’universo”, sia fragile ed impotente di
fronte alle forze della natura e, malgrado ciò, egli stesso continua a violentarla e
manomettere.
To that part of mankind which claims to do without God. This tragic event proves
how fragile is man, the so-called ‘master of the universe’ actually is. And how
impotent vis-à-vis the forces of nature, and yet, in spite of this, man keeps on
doing violence to, and interfering with it.
Vanità delle vanità, dice Qoèlet, vanità delle vanità,tutto
è vanità. Quale utilità ricava l’uomo da tutto l’affanno per
cui fatica sotto il sole? Una generazione va, una
generazione viene ma la terra resta sempre la stessa.

All is meaningless - says the Teacher - meaningless, meaningless! What profit is
there for a man in all his work for which he toils under the sun? A generation
goes, a generation comes and the earth remains forever. (Ecl 1, 2-4)
But Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection; whoever believes in me, though he
die, shall live. Whoever is alive by believing in me will never die. Do you believe

At the coming of the Son of Man it will be just as it was in
the time of Noah. In those days before the Flood, people were
eating and drinking, and marrying, until the day when Noah went
into the ark. Yet they did not know what would happen
until the flood came and swept them away. So will it be at the
coming of the Son of Man. (Mt 24, 37-39)
Come fu ai giorni di Noè, così sarà la venuta del Figlio dell’uomo. Infatti,
come nei giorni che precedettero il diluvio mangiavano e bevevano,
prendevano moglie e marito, fino a quando Noè entrò nell’arca, e non si
accorsero di nulla finchè venne il diluvio e inghiottì tutti, così sarà anche alla
venuta del Figlio dell’uomo. (Mt 24, 37-39)
Allora due uomini saranno nel campo:uno sarà preso e l’altro lasciato.
Due donne macineranno alla mola: una sarà presa e l’altra lasciata.
Vegliate dunque, perché non sapete in quale giorno il Signore vostro
verrà. (Mt 24, 40-42)

Now then, my sons,

happy are those who
follow my ways.

and gain wisdom;

Those who find me find
life:
theirs is Yahweh's
blessing.
Those who offend me will
undergo affliction;

L’eterno riposo dona loro o Signore, splenda

Noi siamo la SPERANZA di questi poveri
superstiti e abbiamo il dovere di aiutarli
con qualsiasi mezzo.
Still, we are the HOPE of those who have
survived, and have the responsibility to
help them in any way we can.
Chi fa la carità al povero fa un prestito al Signore che gli ripagherà la buona azione. He who shows
compassion to the poor lends to Yahweh, who will repay his good deed. (Pr 19,17)
Vide una grande moltitudine e ne ebbe compassione...He saw the crowd gathered there and he had
compassion on them…(Mt 14,14)
“Amerai il Signore Dio tuo con tutto il cuore, con tutta la tua anima e con
tutta la tua mente…amerai il prossimo tuo come te stesso”…"You shall love
the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your
mind… You shall love your neighbor as yourself”.
