Duration and reliability: up to 4 times higher than an electromechanical operator. In a
hydraulic operator most of the components are in oil bath, therefore less subjected to
wear.
Thrust force: a thrust up to 2 times higher than an equivalent electromechanical
operator can be generated. (this makes hydraulic operators particularly suitable for
harsh conditions, e.g. windy environments)
Harsh environments: particularly rugged and suitable for environments with difficult
conditions (humidity, sand, salt, etc.), low temperatures (- 40°C with winter oil,
electro-mechanical max– 20°C).
High operating frequency: the continuous lubrication of the components makes
hydraulic operators suitable for heavy duty applications.
Maintenance: limited and cheaper with respect to a electromechanical operator: e.g. in
case of break-in an electro-mechanical operator is subjected to irreversible ruptures
and needs to be replaced, whereas an hydraulic operator can be easily repaired
(replacing the blocking valve).
Operating noise: the oil guarantees a very low operating noise during the complete
operator lifetime. (in electro-mechanical operators the wear and tear of the
components can cause an increased noise level along the time).
In the medium term, the cost of an hydraulic operator is cheaper with respect
to an electromechanical operator

operator, combines the advantages of
hydraulic technology with 24V DC
motor.
On one hand, the hydraulic circuit
coupled with 24V motor allows a
continuous duty, making this operator
suitable for high frequency transit
applications.
Moreover, the hydraulic technology
requires high quality components with
very limited tolerances (e.g. 2 microns
for the pumps), making the S450H a
very reliable and durable product.

Thanks to the adjustable rear bracket, the S450H is a
very flexible operator, and it is suitable with a wide
range of installation quotes (see table above). This
avoid for instance the need of making a niche in the
pillar.

Maximal accuracy and respect of the safety standards
Inversion on obstacles
The bus encoder, integrated on the rear
bracket, allows to perfectly control the
operator in any position. In addition, it
ensures a high accuracy in obstacle
detection and inversion quickness,

The encoder is protected with a plastic
cover that can be easily removed for

To be used when the mechanical stops
are not present in the ground.
The bushings can be easily inserted in
the rod. The number of needed bushings
depends on the desired opening angle.
Closing mechanical stop
The S450H operator has an internal mechanical stop based on additional and
reinforced supports on the front flange. This allows to avoid the installation of
ground mechanical stops by using the whole stroke of the operator (it’s not
necessary anymore to recede the rod by 5mm during installation)

In traditional SB (without hydraulic lock) operators, the manual opening/closing
operation is often quite difficult. The reason is that during manual operations the oil
has to flow through the pump with a certain pressure, therefore it might be
necessary to slightly “force” the gate in order to reach this pressure.
The new SB system (FAAC patent) includes a tri-drive valve that makes easier to
manually move the gate, because the oil doesn’t need to flow through the pump
during the manual operations.

The S450H operator has been recognized with the GS quality mark, which
indicates that it was tested by a third part (Nemko Institute) and it complies
with the requirements of the German Equipment and Product Safety Act.
The GS is a voluntary mark, but it’s not a self-certification like EN Tested
(used by our competitors) and it should not be confused with the CE mark.
