HEM: Aims and scope
 This programme is based in the Department of
Economics and the School of Economics, Management
and Statistics.
 It offers students the opportunity to have close
contacts with researchers in the field of health
economics, health policy, healthcare management,
health law based in several others leading
departments of the University of Bologna.
 The programme aims to form a far-sighted and socially
responsible healthcare management professional
working either in private or in public environments.

Prospects
Our students will develop:
o knowledge of disciplines that are keys in understanding
the process of decision-making in healthcare;
o ability to use disciplines required in formulating,
implementing and evaluating healthcare decisions,
policies and plans;
o understanding of main options in the management,
policy, planning and financing of healthcare services;
o long-run orientation in problem analysis;
o international and comparative views on solutions and
best practices.

Double Degree (DD) opportunities
 Agreements with the following academic partners

Accessibility
 The programme is entirely taught in English: good
command on this language is an important requisite.
 C1 level is required:
o TOEFL: minimum score of 580 paper-based (85 internetbased)
o IELTS: score in the band 6.5 – 7.0
 Tuition fees amount to approx. 3,000 euro per year.
 Grants and scholarships are available.
