Academic Letters and Recognition Programs
MVHS sponsors a number of academic recognition programs during
the school year. During the fall & spring semesters of each year
academic letters are available for eligible juniors and seniors to purchase
based on their cumulative grade point average. In order to be eligible
for an academic letter a junior or senior must have a 3.5 cumulative
grade point average and an ASB Card. The letters can be purchased at
the student store in the Hawk Rock for $8 w/ASB and $10 w/o ASB.
Nighthawk Scholar Patch
The student must have maintained a 3.5 GPA and be
involved in an extra curricular activity/club. The student
must apply for this patch with their club advisor
at the end of the school year and be an ASB card
holder to receive this patch. This patch is awarded once.
Scholar Athlete Patch
The student must have maintained a 3.5 GPA (Fall
Sport 12 week grading period, Winter Sports 1st
semester grades and Spring Sport 2nd semester 12
week grading period) and be involved in a Varsity
Sport to qualify for this patch. The student must be
an ASB cardholder. This patch is awarded only ONCE at
the end of the sport season and only ONCE during their sports
career at the students Sport Banquet.
High Five Society
This patch is given to students who score a five
(maximum possible) on any AP exam. The patch is
given to the student at one of the Academic Rallies.
The student must be an ASB cardholder to receive
this patch.
