Academic Letters and Recognition Programs
MVHS sponsors a number of academic recognition programs during
the school year. During the fall semester of each year academic letters
are available for eligible juniors and seniors to purchase based on
their cumulative grade point average. In order to be eligible for an
academic letter Student must be a junior or senior and must have a 3.5
cumulative grade point average. The letters can be purchased at the
student store for $8 w/ASB and $10 w/o ASB. This patch is awarded
once.
Nighthawk Scholar Patch
The student must have maintained a 3.5 GPA and be
involved in an extra curricular activity. The student
must apply for this patch with their Club Adviser at
the end of the semester. The cost of the patch is Free
w/ASB and $8 w/o ASB. This patch is awarded once.
Scholar Athlete Patch
The student must have maintained a 3.5 GPA (Fall Sport 12 week
grading period, Winter Sports 1st semester grades and Spring Sport 2nd
semester 12 week grading period) and be involved in a Varsity
Sport to qualify for this patch. The cost of the patch is Free w/ASB and
$8 w/o ASB. This patch is awarded only once at the end of the sport
season and only once during their sports career at the students Sport
Banquet. This patch must be requested by the coach and will
be given to the athlete by the coach.
High Five Society
This patch is Available for purchase for students who
score a five (maximum possible) on Any AP exam.
These students are recognized during the 2nd
semester Academic Rally. The cost of the patch is
Free w/ASB and $8 w/o ASB.
