Amount to State Transportation Trust Fund (STTF) is capped at $541.75M per year. $75M transferred to State Economic Enhancement and Development Trust Fund within Dept. of Economic Opportunity $ Remaining in STTF 10% to New Starts Transit Program 10% to Small County Outreach Program Of the remainder 75% to the Strategic Intermodal System 25% to Transportation Regional Incentive Program First $60M of TRIP to the Florida Rail Enterprise Remaining TRIP funds to Districts by statutory formula 7 Florida Department of Transportation 7 Additional Motor Vehicle Title Fees • Beginning FY 2014, not more than $200M additional per year from motor vehicle title fees. – $10M for Seaport Investment Program (POED). – $35M to the Turnpike for projects which facilitate access to the turnpike system (PKED). – $10M for the Transportation Disadvantaged Trust Fund (TDTF). – $10M for the Small County Outreach Program (SCED). – The remaining funds are to be used for strategic transportation projects (STED). 8 Florida Department of Transportation 8 Other Allocation Requirements • Local option fuel tax – County Incentive Grant Program – Small County Outreach Program • Federal Transportation Management Area funds for areas with population of 200,000 or greater • Federal urban funds for areas with a population of 200,000 or less Florida Department of Transportation 9 Other Allocation Requirements • Federal rural funds for areas with less than 5,000 population • 15% of certain state revenues are for public transportation • Two revenue sources allocated back to district where collected – SCETS – Rental Car Surcharge Florida Department of Transportation 10 Statewide Resource Allocation Additional Capacity/Strategic $2.5B, 23% Turnpike, Operating, Local, etc. $2.4B, 21% Specified in Law $4.2B, 38% Florida Department of Transportation Preservation $1.9B, 18% 11 Conclusion • Program consistent with state & federal laws • Importance of preserving existing statewide transportation system Florida Department of Transportation 12 Florida Department of TRANSPORTATION Questions? 13
