Help our city, by Jamie Kershaw Nottingham is a great place to live, with fantastic parks and shops, and a great football team. But the city has some problems, too. When tourists come to Nottingham, they learn about Robin Hood and how he helped the city in the Middle Ages. Today we must do more to help Nottingham. After all, we all live here – this city is ours. Rubbish There are a lot of rubbish bins in Nottingham, and you don’t have to walk far to find one. But people still drop rubbish in the park. They eat takeaway food there, then they don’t put the rubbish in the bin. Perhaps we can put up posters in takeaway restaurants to tell people about the problem. Graffiti There’s ugly graffiti everywhere on the walls around our school. It’s expensive and difficult to clean, but we don’t have to. We can paint the walls in lots of different colours. We don’t have to spend much money, and students can paint the walls in Art classes. Cycle paths There aren’t many cycle paths in our area, so everybody cycles in the road. It’s dangerous for cyclists and a problem for cars too. We must ask the City Council to build a cycle path outside our school. Green Nottingham Nottingham is a green city, and there are a lot of trees, but there aren’t many trees outside our school. We must plant more trees. We can ask parents for the money to buy them. 1 Leggi il brano.
