EMEA: Italy – Toto and Santander sign on wind

Toto Group and Santander have closed the equity financing of a 23MW wind park in Ponte
Albanito, Apulia. The project has a cost of about €40m. The Santander Group will provide around
70% of the equity through its subsidiary Capital Riesgo Global. Developer Renexia, the renewable
arm of construction company Toto, will provide the remaining 30%. Toto is also the EPC contractor
of the project. The financing is equity-only, but a debt refinancing could occur after completion.
The project is already under construction and production could begin as early as this year. The
wind farm will receive feed-in tariffs, which replaced green certificates starting from this year. The
Ponte Albanito wind farm is one of the first projects to be funded through the new regime.
