The advantages of functional
stabilisation over and above
conventional rigid immobilisation have been well reported:

atrophy and joint stiffness.

Soft Cast casting tape

Soft Cast casting tape is a unique
knitted fibreglass material which
is impregnated with a
water-activated resin.
It remains semi-rigid and flexible
for resilient support in the
treatment of soft tissue injuries
and orthopaedic casting.
Soft Cast casting tape is
designed to allow the clinician
to choose the level of rigidity
necessary to specifically
stabilise the fracture/injury site,
thus allowing the rest of the
limb to function as near to
normal as possible.
In addition it is easy to use
and remove, versatile in its
application and provides
enhanced patient comfort.
A wide range of training and
support items are available to
Soft Cast casting tape users.
These items include : in-hospital
training workshops, application
videos, product usage guides,
wall charts, detailed handbook
and CD-Rom entitled “Working
with 3MTM Soft Cast”.

Variable support – Using 3M™
Scotchcast™ Longuette or 3M™
Scotchcast™ Plus Casting Tape in
conjunction with Soft Cast Casting Tape
allows the user to specifically stabilise
the site of injury.
Patient mobility – Allows the patient as
much mobility as is appropriate to prevent
joint stiffness and assist recovery.
